Apple says Samsung damages ruling is off by $85 million

Apple now says the recent court ruling that cut the amount of damages it won from Samsung Electronics last year is off by $85 million.

Earlier this month, U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh, who is overseeing the patent case, cut the jury's original award of $1.05 billion by $450.5 million.

Koh ruled that the jury had improperly calculated damages from 14 Samsung products.

All Things D reports Apple is now arguing that two of the devices for which damages were vacated are in fact subject to the original award.

The company is asking Koh to reconsider her post-trial ruling.
