Fans of the Mass Effect series can finally say goodbye to Commander Shepard as BioWare executive producer Casey Hudson has revealed at PAX East over the weekend that the next installment of the epic franchise will be ‘fresh and new’.
“We are starting to get ready to develop another Mass Effect game and it’s going to be a new thing,” Hudson said.
“We want to be able to give fans an opportunity to get back into the world with these things you’ve come to know and love about the Mass Effect experience, but start something fresh and new; a new way for you to explore the whole universe in Mass Effect,”
New details surrounding the much discussed Mass Effect movie also popped up during the same panel.
Hudson affirmed fans they were slowly building it up into something worthy of the franchise, while letting slip Legendary Pictures are heavily involved. Legendary Pictures have previously been involved with all Christopher Nolan’s Batman films. No release date or casting details have been announced.
The next Mass Effect title is currently in development at BioWare Montreal, with Casey Hudson continuing on as Executive Producer.
