Dorothy Hamill exits DWTS due to back trouble .

My aching back!

Bad news for Dorothy Hamill. The ice skating legend had to leave Dancing with the Stars due to a back injury.

It is unclear how Hamill sustained the injury. Hamill told Access Hollywood that she knew she would “never be at the level” she liked. “So, [I] put everybody out of their misery.” The Olympian felt badly leaving her pro partner Tristan McManus but her doctor told her there could be permanent nerve damage if she had stayed. There is also a large cyst on her spine. Physical therapy is next.
