Sridevi signs up for ‘Mr. India’ sequel

KARACHI: Bollywood sensation Sridevi finally confirms that she’ll be starring in “Mr. India part 2”, opposite brother-in-law, Anil Kapoor.Shekhar Kapur’s 1987 “Mr. India” too had Sridevi and Anil Kapoor in the lead, with Amresh Puri as the villain Mogambo. Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor, the producer of the movie, is planning to make a sequel to the superhero flick. Currently, he is busy with the second installment of “No Entry” named “No Entry Main Entry.”That is why not much else has been revealed about Mr. India 2. It is still in the scripting stage and will be dealt with when Boney Kapoor finishes his current project, as explained by Sridevi in New Delhi, who was there on Friday for the launch of Fiona’s digital RO water purifying technology.Anil Kapoor and Sridevi were last seen together with Urmila Matondkar in “Judaai” 16 years ago, and that was probably Sridevi’s last successful film. The actress has been making headlines ever since her smashing comeback “English Vinglish” by first-time director Gauri Shinde.We wonder what romance between the 49-year old actress and the 53-year old actor is going to look like.Copyright Business Recorder, 2013
