iOS 7 vs Android Key Lime Pie 5.0 in popularity debate

The new iOS 7 was announced at WWDC on Monday and this has had a massive overhaul compared to iOS 6, most of the features are very nice indeed. It will always be the case of iOS vs Android, the operating system is very important to device users and in most cases more so than the device itself when it comes to debates.
Android Key Lime Pie 5.0 vs iOS 7 will be the next big debate, iOS 7 has already been announced with a public release this fall (September is most likely), KLP 5.0 is expected to release in October and we do say ‘Expected’. Seeing as iOS 7 is now out in the open this means Google can work on KLP and bring new features that iOS 7 is missing.
Before all the comments come in slating us for pitting two operating systems together even though KLP has not been announced, we just want to base the ‘versus’ on what we know so far based on Key Lime Pie rumors, leaks and so forth. A few comments came in last time we did a versus post between these operating systems and one comment said Apple needed to up the ante with iOS 7, now that iOS 7 is real it looks like they have.

Android Key Lime Pie 5.0

The codename for Android 5.0 is better known as Key Lime Pie or for short ‘KLP’, this will be the next release by Google that follows the Jelly Bean OS. No one knows the true features that will come with KLP but on the rumors alone features could include Google Babel, new messaging options for Gmail, Voice, Talk etc into one service.
iOS-VS-Android
The Samsung Orb has been mentioned a few times to boost the camera feature, and this could create panoramic photo across 360 degrees instead of the normal horizontal ones we see on most phones. We know that a few Google Nexus devices use this but the name is different and this could be tweaked for the better. It would be good to see new keyboards as default, how about automatic app updates like iOS 7 has, but then this would be copying and OS users do not like copying do they!
New KLP OS that capitalises on better battery performance, there are no real features that we know of so it is hard to say what will come, we will let you add them in the comments.
iOS 7
Apple has totally re-designed its operating system that will release to the public in the fall; it comes with many new features like Control Center, new camera design, settings and features such as filters etc. multitasking has been added, transparency across the board, the new AirDrop feature means no bumping required to share files, photos etc, iTunes Radio (Only for US residents for now).
Siri can do a whole lot more now like sort your brightness out, and can answer even more questions than before; Apple Maps has been revamped and looks great. The photos app now works even better thanks to by date, by photo, videos and panoramas etc. The list goes on please read more here.
It is hard to pit to operating systems together because KLP features are not known as of yet, but can the new Android OS come up with anything different to compete, it is the obvious choice to go up against iOS 7.

Operating System Fragmentation
When you look at the operating system install fragmentation it was interesting to learn at WWDC that 93% of iOS owners have iOS 6 installed, and 6% have iOS 5, compare this to Android installs and it is a different story. Only 33% of Android users have Jelly Bean installed, Gingerbread at 37%, Ice Cream Sandwich 26% and 3% are still using Froyo.
The Popularity Debate
The debate will always continue between iOS and Android users and we know this will never change, at the end of the day it is down to individuality and you will either choose iOS or Android it is simple as that. We all get comfortable with the platform we are used too, but this will not stop Android users saying Apple stole ideas from its platform and Apple users will say their OS is more advanced than Android, this is the competition world we live in.
The Questions
What Key Lime Pie 5.0 features would you like? Is iOS 7 better than any other operating system at the moment? iOS 7 does look amazing and some of the features are fantastic and these ARE new for iOS users, can Android capitalise on this and bring something special to the table?
