Exclusive: Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to be unveiled as Indy 500 Pace Car on 26th May

New Delhi: General Motors have amazed the world at the recent automotive expo with the launch of the brand new Corvette Stingray concept. The most awaited moment has arrived as the model has all set up to be launched in the global market.
The manufacturer has now officially confirmed that the model is likely to enter the market as Indy 500 Pace Car to represent the event that is going to be held on the 26th of this month. The manufacturer has already been honored with the Indianapolis a total of 24 times so far. The honor has been given for the first time in the year 1948 for the model Chevrolet Fleetmaster.
The corvette model has been honored 11 times already and now with the Stingray version, it has reached 12 times. Other reputed models of the manufacturer include Camaro which has been honored the most after the Corvette model. The Stingray version will get a lot of tweaks both in the design as well as in the performance. The model will continue to get equipped with the same 6.2 liter LT1 V8 engine that is capable of generating around 450 horse power at the peak.
The Pace car will be painted in blue which has almost a completely unique look that will attract each and every eye that has a glance. The engine has got a lot of significant features and it is expected to be one of the most stable engines in the class. A lot of safety features have been added to the model along with more powerful head lamps. The Z51 performance pack will consists of an integrated aero package which makes the vehicle stable at higher speeds. The engine features direct injection and active fuel management system which is accompanied with CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) transmission gear box.
Chevrolet is offering the Z51 performance pack on paying $ 2800 dollars additionally with the cost of the vehicle in the US market.
