French car manufacturer Porsche has unveiled the new 'Type 991' generation 911 Turbo and Turbo 'S' models, 40 years on from the introduction of the first 'Turbo' prototype.
The new Porsche 911 Turbo models come with a host of new features, enhancing both the car's reputation and its performance capabilities.
New to the Turbo models include all-wheel drive chassis, with adaptive aerodynamics and active rear axle steering, as well as full-LED headlights and a flat-six, twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre petrol engine.
The direct petrol injection unit cranks out 520bhp in the 911 Turbo and produces 560bhp in the enhanced Turbo 'S' models. Engines in both models are mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which also features an auto start/stop function.
Porsche's new 911 Turbo models offer a mix of sporty and luxury equipment. Standard equipment for the vehicles includes 20-inch alloy wheels, leather interior, bi-xenon headlights, Bluetooth, climate control, sat-nav and DAB digital radio with Bose Surround Sound, amongst others.
The enhanced 911 Turbo 'S' adds a unique interior trim/colour combination, as well as Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), Sport Chrono Package Plus, LED headlights and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).
Every 911 Turbo model also comes fitted with a Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (VTS); a sophisticated vehicle security package that has been approved to Thatcham Category 5 standard.
On sale in dealerships throughout the UK and Ireland from September 2013, the new 'Type 991' generation 911 Turbo will be priced from £118,349 for the base 'Turbo' model and £140,852 for the 'Turbo S' version.
